Insurance You Can Trust

Who is Your Neighbor?

Sometimes on cold or rainy days I think about how I am so glad I have a warm dry safe place to live. This thought often leads me to thinks about others who are not as fortunate.
The issue of homelessness is a complex and often uncomfortable topic to deal with. There are a lot of different factors that need to be considered when examining homelessness in Spokane. Abuse, drugs, mental illness, financial an lack of basic life skills all can play a part in the result of someone not having a place to live. For most of us the issue is just something we think about but for many organizations in Spokane the issue plays out on a daily basis.
One of the organizations is Transitions. This organization works to end homelessness for women and children in Spokane. They use a comprehensive approach to the problem by building relationships and providing a supportive environment for women to gain stability and confidence to stand on their own. They accomplish this goal with programs that include transitional housing, childcare, and job skills training. Additionally they have a Day drop in center downtown where women can find shelter from the streets, connect with services, take a shower, learn something new, express themselves through the arts or connect via the computer lab. Truly there is something for everyone.
We are excited to announce that All Lines Insurance Inc is going to partner with Transitions this quarter as part of our effort to make Spokane a better place to live. We are going to make a $500 donation to Transitions on Thursday the 13th of February.
You can help too. From now until the end of March, anyone who calls or comes by for a quote and mention Transitions. All Lines Inc will donate an additional $10 to Transitions in the name of each person who gets a quote.
Transitions is having an open house on that day to highlight their work and provide people in Spokane the opportunity to get to know them. Here is a link to the Open House information, http://www.help4women.org/news/137/open-house
